Wireframing is where we figure out what each page actually needs before deciding how it looks. What sections does the homepage need, in what order? Does this page need a form above the fold, or is that too aggressive? These are structural questions, and answering them in gray boxes is faster and cheaper than answering them after a mockup already exists.
